Around Phnom Penh in Three

“Once a year, go some place you’ve never been before.” –Dalai Lama

Phnom Penh (locals pronounce it as phi-nom peng) wouldn’t be on my go-to list if not for budget airlines and cheap air tickets. So we decided a getaway to Phnom Penh it shall be. The place is somewhat similar to Phuket and HCM – combined.

Phuket

Been 5 years since I visited Phuket and it’s become a lot more touristy and commercialised since. Not a place I would return to if I had a choice. But nonetheless, travel never fails to widen up one’s perspectives and horizons.

(Pre) National Day Parade

So this year, i decided to join the crowd for a little (pre) National Day Parade atmosphere. In view that it’s the last rehersal for the NDP, the skies could have been more corporative, instead of being stark naked. It wasn’t even blue. It was just grey and sad. 😦

Oh wells, didn’t do much harm since we were there to take the fireworks anyways. But still, the skies could have done much better. (just sayin)

And today’s attempt at shooting fireworks against the Singapore skyline, is making me wonder if i need a wide-angle lens. =/

Icons

Today, I decided to open up illustrator once again and attempted to do something. Anything. As i looked at the toolbar, everything seems pretty similar to photoshop – except they don’t do the same thing. *frowns*

so anyways, i settled on doing an icon for Team Exotica and after a couple of hours..

But my conclusion is.. Illustrator ain’t the most friendly design software for newbies..
